Very nice antique woven wall tapestry from a Maine estate. I am this assuming this to be French but this is not my forte. The lovely image of a lady being serenaded by a gentleman with some kind of bagpipe? A sweet little dog looks on. In the center there appears to be something in the back ground, a follie of some kind? It is not a stain as there is an outline in the weaving. Above this, just down from the leaves I think may be some kind of stain. Measures 83” x 7...3” It does have some slight damage as seen in the images. Slight splits around the edges, top and bottom from years of hanging. The original backing is absent and a previous owner basted on some velcro for hanging. Please see all the images and don’t hesitate to ask questions.
