WMF Art Nouveau Silver plate centerpiece 1880-1918. Here we have a stunning antique WMF art nouveau silver plate centerpiece bowl. It is large and grand. Approximately 25 inches across to outside handles, largest size. This piece is very heavy and substantial. It has a beautiful emerald green etched glass insert. WMF has a unbeatable reputation as a pioneer and silver plate production of art nouveau items. Sometimes the inscription of WMF is infused with a B mark. Thi...s means Britannia metal base which is rare. One of the earliest WMF marks. Used from around 1880 and up to around 1918. Being a nice antique condition for being over 100 years old. As you can see the silver plate is worn but I believe has a fabulous look. One could re-silver plate if desired. There are a total of four sections that have some separation in frame. Please see photographs. Completely stable without question. Again, enlarge photographs. The fitted glass insert has a Etched design as shown in photograph. There are abrasions to the surface of glass. We are only allowed to add 12 photographs so please ask for additional ones if interested. There is some chipping around top rim of glass. Again, as shown in photographs. In addition, there are a few more like chips that go around top rim. Not all are photographed. You do not see this once bowl is inserted in frame. The bowl is inserted in frame and secured at bottom with two braces. The smaller brace that screws into frame first does not screw into frame completely. Do not try to force screws into frame as you may damage it. Larger brace then goes across smaller brace and screws into frame. Screws have some minor wear marks.
