Antique folk art carved wooden figural dog with hinged compartment that contains the glass ink well along with storage compartment. Notice the fountain pen is held secure in the dog’s mouth. This folk art piece measures 10″ wide by 6 1/4″ deep and is 4 1/2″ high. The dog has glass eyes and notice the holding tray in front of the dog. If you are a dog lover then this carved folk art ink well piece would be one that you would not want to miss adding to your collection. Note a unique find on this set is that inside the ink well there is a small man figure. I don’t know the story behind why this figural piece is inside the ink well. Was it placed there by a mischievous child? Or was it placed there intentionally by the artistic person that made this piece?
