A very RARE Persian Design 100% pure New Wool rug from JOHN LEWIS....Also, selling other rugs, etc. This stunning rug was designed and made in Belgium by Louis De Poortere and retailed by John Lewis.It is made from 'Worsted' wool which means that only the best quality wools are used and they are combed in a special way that makes them extremely hard wearing. This is very true as the rug is around 40 years old and there is no flattening or wear to the pile....you wouldn't tell ...its age.The design has a central floral medallion with trailing bouquets in a French Aubusson (soap box) design / delicate Arts & Crafts. The main colour is best described as claret and it has gold, dark blue and touches of green etc. It has a firm base and could be used under furniture. The colour and velvety appearance gives it a very grand Regal appearance. HAS TO BE ROLLED FOR TRANSPORT, HENCE PRICE DUE TO LENGTH. There are no stains, or fading AND NO WEAR. Please note that colours on my screen show a true reflection, although on some screens they can look different, so please ask if you require more information. It has just been cleaned with a professional carpet washer and non bio products and Dettol Non Bio Laundry antibacterial cleanser, so safe for children and those with sensitive skin. Rugs are completely covered and fully taped when sent out, SO WELL PROTECTED. Collection in person is no problem, but rugs will be rolled and wrapped ready for collection at the door. I cannot offer pre-viewings sorry. The size is approximately 11.8ft x 9ft (360cm x 274cm) You can pay via paypal, or use credit and debit card at the check out.
