Truly outstanding Antique Stumpwork Quilt. Large wool Stumpwork stars on a back ground of wool. Usually the stars are small. In this example they are very large and very raised for a great 3D effect. The back is a plaid twill type fabric. There is a 2” green wool felt edging with a scalloped edge. There is hand stitching attaching the front to the backing. Condition is excellent. 1 very small hole in the green border edge. Measures 61” by 71”Each block measures 1...1” by 16”Each star measures 10” acrossCollected in Pennsylvania. It has been in my collection for many years.
