This is a single motor version of the legendary Acoustic Research ARxa turntable in extra clean condition top and bottom - please see photos. Serial number 133062. This should make the date of manufacture in the mid to late 1960’s. The bottom plate has been removed - this is a common modification, done to decrease vibrations. This unit has the oiled walnut plinth with the original brass logo badge. The original dust cover has a long single crack. I have secured the crack with a bit o...f glue. This table will be deserving of a new cover. Platter is very clean. Arm and wiring are all excellent. The original AR head-shell is mounted with an ADC 10E mkii cartridge with the original ADC stylus - which are included free with the purchase of the table. The cantilever has a slight bend and is included free with the table. It sounds great and is worth saving because it is a rare item. But do not buy the table expecting a perfect stylus.Sound quality as it sits is excellent. I have had a listen to at least six ARxa turntables over the years and this is the cleanest, quietest and best sounding of them all. This may be in part due to the ADC cartridge and stylus, which would be valued at over $100 on their own. Original 10e styli are nearly impossible to find, and the 10e cartridge is a classic.Unit is ready to enjoy at a high level as it sits, but is also a perfect candidate for the AR modifications that take it to the next level.Will be carefully packed for shipping.
