VintageDoll Madame Alexander JOANIE Walker Ideal Playpal Type 35” 1959This is Joanie, from Madame Alexander in 1959 – early 1960s. Similar to Ideal’s Patti Playpal, Joanie is a companion doll, the sizeof a three-year-old child. Joanie isabout 35” tall and marked “Alexander / 1959” on the back of her head. Her head is soft vinyl and the body and limbsare rigid vinyl. Joanie is a walker andwill walk as she is guided by her left arm. Her left arm ca...n only be raised to the waist, due to the walkermechanism. Her right arm will hold apose with her arm straight up, but not other poses. She can be carefully made to stand alone, butwould be better in a doll stand. Herhead turns and tilts, and her long-lashed eyes flirt from side to side. The eyes open and shut well. She has wonderful facial color.Joanie isall-original and appears very lightly played with, if at all. Her blue cotton dress has puffed sleeves anda big sash to tie in a bow at the back. The dress has a tag inside the back skirt, “Joanie”. Joanie has her original dress, ruffled slip, panties, socks and soft black strap shoes. The dress and slip are crisp and clean. She has never been undressed while in my possession, and maybe not atall. Please view the photos, as thereare a few light spots on the dress.
