Antique 18th century Indo-Persian Islamic Mughal Shield to sword Talwar Tulwar Antique 17th-18th century Indo-Persian Islamic Mughal Shield Dhal Separ ... Click images to enlarge Description Antique 17th-18th century Islamic Indo-Persian Mughal large shield Dhal- Separ of circular convex form, made of black painted buffalo hide. The center is set with four iron domed bosses, with rosette shaped and pierced collars, with traces of gold inlaid. The outer surface affixed by stuffed leather cushion, and four ring-bolts for straps to hold the shield.

Diameter: 49 cm (19.29 inches)
CONDITION: The shield is in good condition considering its age of 300- 200 years old, showing age and usage, some age wear overall.
This type of the large black painted hide shields was very fashionable amongst the Mughal and Persian royalties and aristocracy during the 17th-18th century, which can be seen on the Mughal miniatures of this period time.
