Antique Vintage Brass U.S. MARITIME COMMISSION SER. SERIAL NO. # 8482 CHELSEA SHIP'S BELL CLOCK U.S. WWII? 7-3/16" Inches in Diameter and just over 3/1/4" tall or deep. I acquired this nice piece, which is very likely used during the war, from a clock collector's estate sale. Sorry, I do not have the key and unknown if it works. I asked for info on this clock from Chelsea, this is what they replied,
"Thanks for contacting Chelsea Clock Company. From the serial number yo...u provided below your clock was manufactured around 1940 – 1944. If you would like to purchase a Certificate of Origin, this will tell you the exact date the clock left our factory, who it was originally sold to and any other info that is archived in our books. The cost of the Certificate is $35.00".
I'll leave it to you to pursue the exact history of the clock. This is a pre-owned item, so please look at all the pictures carefully for condition and ask any questions before bidding.
