A matched Pair of George II silver Pepper Casters by Samuel Wood, London, 1755 & 1756.
They stand 4 3/4" or 12cm tall.
The Pair weigh 172 grams.
Of baluster form raised upon stepped circular bases. Pull-off Tops with dome and ball finials. There is some small difference between the two in the pattern of piercing to the tops.
Hallmarked for London, 1755 and 1756. Maker's mark of Samuel Wood. The Tops have the sterling lion mark.
In very good, clean c...ondition. Some very slight surface bruising around the 'belly' otherwise in undamaged condition. The Tops fit securely.
