This auction is for an original South Bend #290 7 1/2 feet 2 piece Bamboo Fly Rod with Original Rod Tube & Sleeve made in the USA. The auction also comes with the extra tip section. These rods were produced from the late 1930’s through the early 1950’s, so as the odds would have it, this one was probably made in the 1940’s. The rod is in excellent vintage condition as shown in the photos. It looks like it might have only been used a couple times. The rod has the original sticker ...on the cork grip. Nice Vintage Rod! The rod sleeve is in very good condition and obviously matches the rod and tube. The tube is solid with some wear doing it’s job over the years.
