Early Edwardian solid oak and brass table top dinner gong with brass mallet. The wood arch is supported by two turned tapering wood columns, which are fixed to a solid oak base that retains its original brass wish-bone shaped fittings that hold the solid brass mallet.
Beneath the base is the maker's trade mark shi...eld in white metal embossed with a cherub holding a bow and arrow and numbered "2811". The base measures 11-1/2 inches by 4-3/8 inches and frame stands 12-1/2 inches in height overall. Very good undamaged condition. An ideal size for a dining room side server.
