This Paper Mache has the softest and most serene facial expression and is on a mint leather body. As was the custom her hair was painted on with a couple of curls. Nails were used to keep her wig on. Many layers of antique clothes - heavy red turkey homespun, antique wool paisley shawl with fringe, white apron, net undersleeves, black straw bonnet and warm red wool cloak.. This was to keep her warm on those cold wintry days when she was out "hustling her wares".... Items for sale in her large straw basket were fruit, sewing implements, books, baskets, glassware, and even dolls. All of the items in her basket have been dusted..
