Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely pair of antique French brass and mother-of-pearl theater opera glasses, c. 1880-1900. The opera glasses are a nice size perfect for an evening at the theater or opera with good viewing lens and screw adjustment. The mother-of-pearl panels on the body of the glasses have a pure white mother-of-pearl luster. The matching brass... and mother-of-pearl handle is also decorated with three embossed brass bands. Marked "ISIS Paris" on top center brass bar.
Measure 1 3/4" high (closed) and 2 1/4" high (fully extended), 4" wide with the lens end being 1 1/16" in diameter. The handle is 5 1/2" long (including attachment end). Weighs 9.6 ounces.
These nice opera glasses are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only naturally aged patina to the brass frames.
