Description: You are bidding on a Vintage 1940s Berkeley DE Safety Razor with 2 Packs of NOS Razor Blades one Vintage, Berkeley and the other Modern, Feather .
Berkeley was a Trademark of Berkeley Industries and Consolidated Razor Blade Co. both of which ran concurrently from 1934 to 1962. The companies were located at 26 - 36 Cornelison Avenue in Jersey City, NJ.&n...bsp; and relocated in the early 1950s to 500 Brand Street. The firm also made cigarette lighters, hardware, steel measuring tapes and other items of a similar type. This information is from page 40 in the book entitled a Collector's Guide To American Safety Razor Blades by Phillip L. Krumholz copyrighted in 1995.

This Safety Razor, as best as I can determine, is a composite. When I originally purchased it, it had an unmarked black bakelite handle. I obtained a handle to match the one that was shown in the Photo noted above. This Item is in Good to Very Good Used Condition. This is a Gillette Type Tech Safety Razor. One unusual feature is that the Guard has a Platform to place the Safety Razor on, see Photo 4. The Handle has some slight oxidation and has a tapered Hexagon shape. It has machine tooling on its one flat side, see Photo 5 and an Arrow at the Collar, see Photo 8. I encourage you to use eBay's Magnification Option to evaluate this information for yourself.
I have added a Vintage Pack of 5 Berkeley Safety Razor Blades to this Listing for the Collector. Please note that this safety razor will take Modern Day Safety Razor Blades. For the Wet Shaver, I have also added a Pack of 5 Feather New Hi-Stainless Platinum Coated Blades. This is the Brand I use. Prior to Shipping this Safety Razor will be Sanitized and arrived in a Sealed Zip Lock Plastic Bag.
