Reference Number: Avaluer:4494667 |
Although it may be hard for some people to remember a Florida without Disney World, this plate was made in the early 1960s. There is not a pair of mouse ears to be seen on this plate! It also lists Cape Canaveral as “Cape Canaveral Guided Missile Base”. Some other defunct attractions shown on the plate are Webb’s City in St. Petersburg, Tommy Bartle...tt’s Deer Ranch at Silver Springs, and Africa, U.S.A. in Boca Raton, and Horns Cars of Yesterday.Around the border of the plate it features CORAL REEF FISHES, SEA SHELLS, EVERGLADES NAT’L PARK, SEMINOLE INDIANS, SUNSET ON GULF MEXICO, and ORANGE GROVES. Some of the other attractions on the plate are Cypress Gardens, Gulfarium, Circus Hall of Fame, Tarpon Springs Sponge Exchange, and more. There is a small chip on the upper right edge of the plate and the glaze is crazed due to its age, but it is still in very good antique souvenir condition.Thank you for visiting and if you’re interested in more souvenir themed items, please take a look at the listings in the COLLECTIBLES Vintage Souvenirs category in my store.
