The mineral is named for its occasional delicate blue color.Celestite is the principal source of the element strontium.Celestite is an attractivemineral that forms in well-shaped crystals with a distinctive soft bluecolor. Crystals may be a solid color, but may also have lighter and darkercolor zones of blue. While pure Celestine is colorless, variousimpurities give this mineral a wider range of colors, especially its celestialblue color. The crystals are transparent to translucent. The mineral is foundworldwide, usually in small quantities. Soft blue crystal specimens are foundin Madagascar.Celestite occurs ascrystals, and also in compact massive and fibrous forms. It is mostly found insedimentary rocks, often associated with the minerals gypsum, anhydrite, andhalite. Colors range from blue to white, colorless, orange, orange-brown, lightbrown, yellow, greenish-blue, gray. Crystals may also be slightly multicolored, with light blue on one end and colorless on the other. The crystal formationhabits of such minerals include prismatic and tabular crystals, and asthin tabular plates. Also in thick, pseudohexagonal trillings, as well as dense aggregates of such crystals. May also be massive, radiating, grainy, nodular, and botryoidal. Additional habits include fibrousmasses, as dense clusters of tabular crystals, as fragile elongated crystalclusters, as fillings in geodes, and as cleavage fragments. Crystalsare sometimes striated, and occasionally contain phantom growths.Note:**All specimens aretaken in natural and regular lighting only, indoor and outdoor. This specimenlooks better in person in order to appreciate its beautiful soft soothingblue color, shape, transparency, luster, including the multiple formationhabits of the crystals. It also sparkles under light, and the color comes aliveeven more in the outdoors, which makes it even more appealing but can be difficultto capture on camera, especially the clarity, the transparency and the luster. Pleasealso note that color may be a little different due to the colorcalibration of each individual monitor or light levels.**As with all genuine mineral specimens, there maybe natural occurring inclusions, cleavages, formations, impressions, includingabrasions on the sides as with this featured specimen due to the excavationprocess. We haveposted close up pictures at all angles for your viewing pleasure in this listing, to show you the fine details, color, form, structure, clarity and overall beautyof this fine specimen.**We will only ship tothe 48 contiguous U.S. states (No International).**All orders ship within 3-5 business days after receiving clearedpayment. Returns accepted ONLY if item is not as described or shown andmust be in the condition it was received.
