Original Description:

WHAT's FOR SALE?Up for ten day auction is a 50 year old CLASSIC YAMAHA Model G-60 A  (with new Nylon Strings.) This Vintage Classical Acoustic Guitar was MADE IN JAPAN  (NOT Taiwan, NOT China, NOT Korea)
WHERE'D I GET IT?Goodwill in San Francisco where someone actually DONATED this COLLECTOR's ITEM guitar and case !!!
HOW'S IT SOUND?Wonderful tone and beautiful resonance: a joy to play, this is exactly WHY you buy a NYLON STRING CLASSICAL ACOUSTIC guitar. ... Research states these old Japanese Classics sound quality is comparable with more expensive guitars from famous makers.
HISTORY:"NIPPON GAKKI" means "JAPANESE INSTRUMENT".  Note: all other Yamaha G60-A's are made elsewhere (and don't sound as good as the "MADE IN JAPAN" originals.) They were intelligently conceived and scrupulously produced in the HAMAMATSU FACTORY in Japan from 1969 to 1973 when YAMAHA then moved the G60-A production to Taiwan.
SPECS:Top: Spruce (but looks like Cedar to me)Back & Sides:  (some say Mahogany, others say Maple)Neck: NatoFingerboard: Bubinga (hard wood from Africa)Nut:  width measures 52mm (two inches)Bridge:  Bubinga   Color:  Natural
STRING HEIGHT =  "ACTION"Overall low action with no buzz . . . First fret = 2 / 32nds,   Fifth fret =  5 / 32nds, Seventh fret = 6 / 32nds, Twelfth fret = 7 / 32nds
SERIAL NUMBER:The serial number is found on the brace inside the sound hole but middle numbers are somewhat faded.  It appears to be 11100019 at first and then with closeup inspection it may be 111065019 I'm not sure.  NOTE:  There are a couple of sites online to look up YAMAHA serial numbers but researchers have said that even YAMAHA cannot come up with the exact dates of manufacturing origin for all of their early guitars.  Online consensus says the Japanese Nippon Gakki G 60-A's were 1969 to 1973.
CONDITION:Extraordinary overall condition for a Vintage 50 year old guitar!  While it does have typical small dings, marks, and light scratches - - there are NO CRACKS.
ORIGINAL PRICE vs. TODAY'S PRICE: The MSRP of $79.50 in 1969 equates to $560 today in 2020.  These G-60 A's are currently selling on Ebay for $395, $380, $340, $330 $ $300 (and that's without a BAUSACH case)
DUE DILLIGENCE:I took it to a high end professional LUTHIER to check it out and was happy to hear that he found (with mirrors) all the braces and wood INTACT with no cracks or damages giving it a clean bill of health!!  He didn't even try to sell me on his services he just said "play it a while since you have new strings and then if you'd like a tune up (set up) I'll do it.   He said he "was actually responsible for bringing the YAMAHA brand into a Guitar shop he worked at in Los Angeles and that overall they made great sounding classical acoustics back in the sixties and seventies"  And, he was very surprised at the overall condition of this one and agreed with me that the earlier owner was clearly a professional guitarist.
WHAT KIND OF CASE IS INCLUDED?If you take a close look at this BAUSACH CASE with stickers from all over the world, you'll realize (as did I) that this guitar was owned by a professional musician. (WHY? because casual/intermediate players do NOT drag their guitars along while traveling all around the world.)  This one has stickers from New Delhi INDIA, Kathmandu NEPAL, Cairo EGYPT, Abidjan Cote D'Ivorie AFRICA, and  London ENGLAND,  and these are just the places where the hotels had free stickers!  It is a BAUSACH = see the inside sticker "ESTUCHES" which means 'CASE' and they are made in SPAIN.  (like a tank)  Note: the sticker also states WHERE this case was purchased ie:  JUAN TEIJEIRO MUSIC CO in LONDON, UK.  Thick plush protection inside with heavy vinyl covering on the outside over solid wood construction with 5 very heavy FLIP LOCKS (sorry no key) and a very sturdy HANDLE.  These cases are very heavy duty to protect high end guitars and I saw a listings of a $24, 000 and a $29, 000 priced guitar with this exact SAME BAUSACH CASE!  Why pay $500 for a case unless you're a traveling pro and want to protect a valuable instrument?  (Hey, buy this case for only $250 and the guitar is included FREE, so to speak . . . ha ha)
WHY SELLING?While I love the very wonderful sounds and easy playability of this guitar, I am hoping to trade it in for a CUTAWAY ELECTRONIC !!
FULL REFUND:If you find anything which is NOT AS DESCRIBED (in keeping with Ebay policy)  just send it back for a full refund.
IN CLOSING:If you were hoping to find a killer antique - vintage - genuine - authentic JAPANESE CLASSICAL GUITAR in excellent condition You will be very happy with this one!
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS !!
