Vintage Heddon #20 bamboo fly rod 9’. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.You are buying a vintage (Bill Stanley’s favorite?) Heddon number #20 bamboo fly rod with original metal case and bag. This beautiful rod measuring just over 9’ (9’ 2 1/2f) ? Is in very good clean original condition with great eyelets and cork grip having its natural patina. In this grouping you will receive the original metal shipping protection float case in good condition , cotton carting case that’s in ...very good condition, and a Heddon 3 piece bamboo fly rod with extra tip making it a 3 piece rod that’s in very good condition. The rod is made up of signed Heddon #20- 9’ 1/2f bamboo shaft, a 6” cork grip, a hard Bakelite like plastic heel area , and has a Pat. No. 1, 624, 052 on metal reel tightness. The patented number is a April 12, 1927 patent granted to Charles Heddon and Jack Welch but I’m thinking this is a 1934-1939 rod, and the number 20 is a hard rod to find, especially in this condition for its age.
