Itis an exceptional bronze, 'lost wax' cast medal, commemorating theOfficial Visit of Pope John Paul II to Canada , September 9-20, 1984.This is solid bronze, weighing a substantial 74 grams, deepbas-relief casting both front & back, 2” in diameter, approx1/4” thick. The signature MABA is on both sides of the medal, whichwas produced by Columbo & Figlia Company- (the name may be read onthe medal front, lower left). The reverse depicts Christ embracing ayouth with Latin ins...cription from the Gospel: “Domine, ad quemibamus? Verba Vitae habes”, (Lord, to whom shall we go: Thou hastthe Words of Life.”. This comes in a pale gold padded box withtransparent lid ( see photos #6 & 7); the medallion is graded in Mint Condition.
