It works perfectly. It has aluminum legs with a U cross section. The legs have three pieces, (i.e., two extensions) with quick-set clamps rather than screws. They all work just fine. See the pictures for it unextended, with one extension, and with both extensions, with the top about 60" off the floor.
The screw for mounting the camera is standard 3/8".
The only thing missing is the original red rubber foot covers. The hard rubber black feet (shown in pictures) adjust on screws up or down to reveal points that secure the tripod on soft ground. Originally, if you screwed them all the way down, the points would be entirely hidden, and the rubber foot covers would protect the floor. Those red rubber covers have long since dried up, crumbled, and blown away. The hard rubber feet are in fine condition, but if you want to protect a nice floor you'll have to figure something out. One possible solution is to remove the E-clips on the pointed ends, then the black rubber feet can screw further out, hiding the points. Screw them further out, of course, and they come off.
Ideally, you could find some original red rubber covers. Maybe something could be 3D printed. I never went that far.
Cosmetically, I'd give it an OK. The aluminum legs are a bit scuffed, and could use a good polish. The top part, where everything hinges, on which you'd put the head, has some of its finish flaked off (see picture).
This is a lovely piece of mid-century German engineering and would be a fine addition to anyone's collection of vintage photography equipment. But it's also a perfectly functional and lightweight set of legs.I'm not taking any returns on this.
I'll ship UPS Ground (it weighs about 4.5 lb) and I'm starting at 99¢ because I believe in eBay!Thanks for bidding! Enjoy!
