A lovely painting on velvet by famed Pennsylvania folk artist Bill Rank. A distant relative of the family of blanket chest makers active during the last part of the 18th century. This painting is a traditional flower basket design with stylized bird. The frame is red sponge painted and made by Rank as well. William Rank passed away in 2000 and his works are now very collectible. A great piece of reproduction American folk art.
