It is believed by the previous owner’s family to date from sometime circa 1960-1970.
Featuringa swing handle, the bowl has beautiful decorations in a band around theexternal rim and over the handle. There is a similar but not identicaldecoration on the spoon handle. They go very well together as you can see. Boththe spoon bowl and the inside of the sugar bowl still have a vibrant gilt washas shown.
Thebasket stands 3.5" high (to the top of the upright handle) with a diameterof approximately 4" (measured across the top rim of the bowl area). It is1.25" deep.
The spoon is just less than 5" long.
Under the basket there is an impressedstar with hammer and sickle emblem and number of fineness (875”). This is amark that was used in Russia after 1958.
The bowl and spoon jointly weigh177.3g which equates to 6.25 imperial ounces or 5.69 troy ounces when placed onthe scales together.
Condition: This is a lovelylooking bowl, there are no deep scratches, nasty dents, or serious misshapesanywhere to report as far as I can tell. It has just the typical light, faintsurface scuffs and scratches externally that all silver objects tend to acquireover the years. There is no wobble if it is put down on a flat surface. Thespoon is not bent or misshapen either.Thisgorgeous looking set is being offered here in a used vintage condition, exactlyas pictured.
