This is a brochure, pamphlet or booklet. It measures 4 by 9 inches when closed. The cover reads: "A MODERN HEALTH MOVEMENT...CONDUCTED BY SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS." It is not dated, but on the cover, it is hand written: "Chicago 1934." This was found with several other pamphlets, that were picked up by someone who attend the 1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair, and I have no doubt that this was printed in, or before, 1934. This is an interesting look at ...the Seventh-Day Adventists belief regarding health care. One of the first paragraphs reads (in part): "Greater recognition is being given to natural methods of healing, and less to drug medication. Doctors, nurses, sanitariums, hospitals, remedies and appliances are of use only as they assist nature, which alone can effect a cure. Standing first in the cure of any and all ills are the natural recuperative powers within the body, and the various natural healing forces outside the body, such as sunlight, fresh air, water, proper diet, etc." The booklet pictures several sanitariums run by the Seventh-Day Adventists, including locations in China, Denmark, California, Africa, Australia and other places throughout the world & U.S. One small picture shows a leper colony in Africa. There are photos showing missionaries, doctors and nurses. The booklet is in VERY GOOD condition, with no tears. The ONLY flaw is the hand written date, which appears on the front cover.
