This is an extraordinary tapestry that was sold by R. H. Macy & Co. in the early 1900’s. I’venever found another example of this 17.5”x 14.5” framed woman of the cloth. It’s in very good condition with the fabric portion measuring 12”x 9.5”. The white fabric on the Nuns scarfs change to a brown color as your eyes move around the work. It’s initialed in the lower left corner, with what looks like NE and both frame and tapestry are in very good conditio...n.
