Rare 1974-'78 Personal Computing Hardware/Software Book
Compiled from Interface Age, Kilobaud, Mini-Micro Systems,
Datamation, Dr Dobb's Journal, BYTE Magazine
This rare vintage book, culled from the pages of Interface Age, Kilobaud, Mini-Micro Systems, Datamation, People's Computers, BYTE Magazine, and Electronics magazine throughout the mid-1970s, at the forefront of the home computer revolution, covers everything under the sun relating to the new...ly-emerging personal computing hobby. Included are reviews of such early micros as the TRS-80 Model I, Apple II, Commodore PET, and Heath H8, to name but a few, as well as an in-depth look at SBC's and microcomputer kits from AMD, AMI, Fairchild, GI, IMS Associates (maker of the IMSAI 8080), Intel, Martin Research (Mike 203A), Microcomputer Associates (Jolt), Motorola, National Semiconductor, Polymorphic Systems (Poly-88), RCA, and Signetics. Also covered are the plethora of computer languages popular at the time, among them BASIC, Pascal, FORTRAN, andPL/M. Rounding things out is a whole section on the microprocessor technology under the hood, from the 8008 to the 8086 and everything in between, complete with pair of articles penned by Federico Faggin, designer of the world's first microprocessor, the Intel 4004. Whether it's hardware, software, interfacing, or the microcomputer biz in general, this book has it all - even a reminiscent piece on core memory.
Apart from some moderate cover wear, the book is in very good condition. Approx. 300 pages. Copyright 1979.
