Joanies is very excited to be offering a fine and rare selection of Ming and pre Ming ceramics and other interesting objects including examples from the important estate collection of the late Mr. Pao. We have offered several items from this collection over the past couple years and have now been asked to off...er the remaining pieces. Mr Pao was a personal friend and was highly respected as a knowledgable scholarly collector and Chinese art dealer during the 1960-90s period. Mr. Pao owned a high end Chinese art gallery in the prestigious Four Seasons hotel in Toronto that has been closed for around 20 years now. The sale also includes an important set of five early Ming dynasty Buddhist emblems that were deaccessioned by the Royal Ontario Museum c1969.
A number of the items being offered from the collection were scheduled to be sent to New Yorks’s high end auctions, but due to large sale delays and other issues this year the estate had asked us to offer All the remaining items. A great and rare opportunity to acquire some investment-grade examples. This will be our Last large Asian art offering of the winter season.

Up for auction is a LARGE ANTIQUE CHINESE BRONZE DRAGON FIGURAL LIDDED TRIPOD CENSER VASE MING SEAL. Part of an important estate collection being offered this week. A fine and large size solid bronze censer. We are told this example would date from the Qing dynasty with Ming seal mark to the base. This censer has many interesting figural designs including dragon figures surrounding the pierced lid, large dragon figural side handles, zodiac animals surrounding the body, and great figural legs. One of the nicer and more interesting examples we have personally seen or ever offered.
Condition: Estate-fresh, the censer could use a minor cleaning if desired and is otherwise in very fine unaltered original condition for its antique age with no damage or losses as seen. The censers sits nice and straight and perfectly stable on its tripod feet. UV light also reveals no hidden damage of investment-grade.
Size: Measuring 12 inches tall by 12 inches wide and 8 inches deep. The censer has a substantial bronze weigh of 6018 grams. PLEASE REVIEW PAYMENT AND RETURN POLICIES PRIOR TO BIDDING.
