Item: Vintage "Every Angle" ThermometerNote: Many people like to know where their Collectibles/Antiques came from. This one has no glorious past life, but I picked it up from a Metal Work Shop in Newark NJ that is going out of business. Frankly, based on where I found it in that shop, I don't think it was ever mounted to anything at all. If it was, it would have been dirty like everything else. The Key Word for this listing is "RE-PURPOSE"! ...; Use your imagination and this Thermometer can have an awesome second life. In my 2nd photo, it shows how simple it is to mount this standing up with a base and it can rest on any flat surface. The base needs to be heavier than the thermometer itself. So, I suggest cast-iron. The long Copper shaft on the bottom will help in mounting. This would look so VERY COOL as a standing WORKING Thermometer!!!Description: For Sale is a Vintage Industrial LONG "EVERY ANGLE" Thermometer by Maker "ASHCROFT". Ashcroft has been making Thermometers since the Early 20th Century at least. True, the Brass Ones are Truly Gorgeous and I wish I had more of those. They do cost at least double though. This one dates from 1955-Mid 1965 at latest. How do I know? I looked up the Patent Date which is stamped into the metal circular section below the Large Nut along base portion. It's overall length is 16.5" and weighs 2.2 Pounds. On the reverse is a instruction decal. Instructions on how to use a thermometer you ask? But, these instructions explain on how to take advantage of the "Every Angle" option which is the namesake of this model thermometer. It does indeed rotate and can be locked into place. I am sure my photos will best further describe this item. Condition: On a scale of 1 - 10 (Ten being New in Package Only), I can confidentlygrade this item's condition to be a solid 8. Overall and Especially for being 50+ Years Old, this Industrial Thermometer is in Very Good - Excellent WORKING & ACCURATE Thermometer. I don't sell dirty items from my store so you can count on this item arriving No Less than 90% Immaculate. The Clear Face has Absolutely ZERO Cracks/Chips in the Plastic. There are Absolutely ZERO Dents/Dings. I am 90% POSITIVE this thermometer has NEVER been used at all. If it was ever attached to anything, it would have been covered in greasy dust like everything else in that shop. Instead, it was near immaculate already. There is Zero Rust/Corrosion and all moving parts work with ease. My photos are anaccurate depiction of this item's TRUECondition. All Shipmentsautomatically come with Free Tracking.
