42 cards consisting of all 22 trumps, all 16 courts + 2 deuces and two ones. Cards are used, La Monde and Le Force have corners missing, However most of the cards are crisp and presentable. The odd distribution is probably because a desperate card player shortened a Latin suited deck to play a French suited tarot game. Hence the occasional scribbled french suit names on the courts.
The Tarot of Besancon is a variant of the Marseilles Tarot in which the Pope and Popess ar...e replaced by Jupiter and Juno.
