247R CPR Lantern
May, 1959 Coleman 247R Lantern
Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR)
Date code 5 – 59
May, 1959
The 247R lantern is designed to burn kerosene, but can also burn Coleman fuel.
Both fuels require pre-heat with alcohol in the cup surrounding the generator.
The 247R features a burner assembly of a 247 lantern and the larger tank of a237 lantern.
This lantern probably“fell off the back of the caboose” ast...he saying goes.
A previous owner has placed a name and address plate over the area where theembossed “CPR” would be.
The person I purchased the lantern from indicated that it belonged to thehusband of a former neighbour and that he worked for the City of Calgary.
I have not attempted to see what is under the plate, as I did not want to wreckanything.
Lantern operates, holds pressure and burns well.
Lanterns comes with red rising sun logo globe.
Normal use marks, scuff, scratch and soot.
Some small dents and light rust.
Name plate soldered onto tank.
Installed ash mantle will be removed prior to shipping.
Please examine the photos.

US Internet Sales Tax
In June 2018, a US Supreme Court decision removed therequirement for retailers to have a physical presence in a state in order forthat state to impose sales tax on these retailers. Some states have extended the taxcollection obligation to marketplaces.
This means that regardless of where you’re physically located, if you sell tobuyers in certain US states, those states will require the collection ofapplicable taxes on your transactions.
eBay will calculate this new sales tax, charge buyers, and remitsales tax for orders shipped to customers in certain US states. As per eBay Canada Policy (cut and paste): International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.” These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as ‘gifts’ - Canadian and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
