A wonderful antique Chinese Canton early 19th century original trade painting on silk showing tea production-one of two we are auctioning this week.This fabulous and highly detailed silk painting shows two figures bringing tea to the drying hut with three figures inside placing the tea into the drying racks, the background with elaborately painted gardens with potted plants, trees, mountains, water and a fortressed village. The painting is framed in an early 1900s gold gilt frame, the... reverse has an old New York art depository stamp.The painting measures approximately 7 3/4 x 5 1/8 inches and with frame about 13 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches.The painting is in very good condition with nice bright colors, the edges have some chips and small tears. This fabulous and highly detailed silk painting shows two figures bringing tea to the drying hut with three figures inside placing the tea into the drying racks, the background with elaborately painted gardens with potted plants, trees, mountains, water and a fortressed village. The painting is framed in an early 1900s gold gilt frame, the reverse has an old New York art depository stamp.
The painting measures approximately 7 3/4 x 5 1/8 inches and with frame about 13 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches.
The painting is in very good condition with nice bright colors, the edges have some chips and small tears. The frame has some wear including some chipping to the gilt edges. Please check all pictures-they form part of the description.
