Here we have an antique ceramic frog, probably from the early 1900s. We do not know the maker, although several potteries produced garden ware with frogs as part of a fountain, including Ohio kilns like Weller, Roseville, Zanesville and others. This obviously is not Weller, but the yellow clay on the bottom should provide a clue to who made this.The frog features a good thick matte green glaze with good detail to the body. A water hole has been crafted into the piece and exits the frog...'s mouth.This work is 7" long, a bit over 5" wide at base and a little over 4" tall at the head. Weighs 34 ounces.The condition is original and excellent. We can not find any damage or evidence of repairs.Thanks for looking!
