This vise seens to be complete including the original mounting bracket and spring which are usually missing. The mounting bracket even has 2 bolts used to mount the vise which appear original or at the least they are period correct to the vise. The jaws measure just under 4 1/4" so I would call this a 4" vise as I believe the next size produced was a 4 1/2". The overall height is approximately 40 3/4" tall with the jaws opening up to about 3 1/2" wide. They would open wider but t...hats as far as the spring pushes. The vise is in as found condition. It has some pitting and shows signs of use but is stilk in good working condition. When shut completely the jaws are slightly off center to each other but it is easy enough to realign the hinge once its loosened up for cleaning or it can worj just fine as it is. The sleeve that the main screw threads into has a marking as shown in the photos and it has a tiny hole near the edge that appears to have been a manufacturing defect. The leg has a very slight bow to it that is hardly noticable except when looking straight down it and the handle appears to he straight. I cannot find any cracks or chips as well as no repairs. Overall a good early and solid working tool ready for a new home. I will leave cleaning up to the buyer.Since this item weighs around 40 lbs and is so large it will be shipped in a box constucted partially of wood as to protect the item. The weight will likely exceed 50 lbs. If you believe you know a way it can be shipped cheaper I am open to suggestions but I absolutely reserve the right to deny suggestions if i feel that the safety of the item is in question. Between 2 other ebay accounts ive had in the past 5 years I have never had an item damaged during shipping out of over 600 items. A lot of which were glass and fragile cast tools. Pick up will be available for the piece also if you are close enough for it to be reasonable to do.Please do not forget to look closely at any and all provided photos as they are a very important part of the description.
