GORGEOUS Set of 6 Antique Handpainted Royal Worcester England Luncheon Plates. The plates are a lovely matte finish ivory porcelain with a hint of "blush", a peachy/pink color cast across the front surface. The back surface is glossy. Each plate is a slightly different hand-painted floral arrangement. The plates measure 8" across and have a raised scalloped border edge with a thin gold band around the rims which show no loss. These beautiful plates are in near excellent condition with ...just an occasional tiny factory flaw such as glaze pops here and there. There are two tiny factory flaws or flea bites on the back of one plate and one smudge of what appears to be green paint on the back of another (see close up photos). There are no utensil marks or other signs of wear. The last photo shows the delicate porcelain as back-lit by a lamp. I have scrutinized the plates carefully and have tried to describe everything I see to the best of my ability. I am not an expert by any means but from my research, it appears that the back stamp would indicate that the plates are from 1895. I base that on the original mark and the words "Made in England" which were added in 1891 and the 4 dots, 2 on each side, indicating 4 years. The plates are really quite remarkable considering their age.Thanks for looking and let me know if you have questions or would like more pictures.
