The crystallerie de la pantin, founded in paris in the 1850s, has seen a number of name changes...from early... Monot et Cie, Monot, Stumpf & Cie, Monot Pere et Fils & Stumpf, then Stumpf, Touvier, Viollet & Cie, Legras & Cie by 1918....their remarkable innovations of glass- making techniques encompassed the cameo, enameled, double overlay and mottled decors...
this vase is a rare and stunning example of the "rosathea" pattern. produced during the "glory years" of the era
