Fabulous fun fantasy seascape painting by famous Mid Century Modern artist, Carlo! A smiling whale (I guess?!), a shipwreck, small fish, seashells, lots of kelp and seaweed. So cool! And with the original MCM frame, too: It measures approx. 39.5" across the top, 34" across the bottom, and 25" tall. The actual painting is 20" X 32". The painting was done on thin cardboard and it is a bit ripply from being in the frame for decades without a firm backing AND it also has a bit of wat...er damage at the lower left, where the cardboard is quite rippled (please examine photos). The good news is, it looks like part of the design, what with all the strands of kelp everywhere. I didn't notice it until I got up close and examined it to sell. So it is definitely not perfect but I don't think it seriously detracts. The frame has issues: someone decided to mount this to the wall by screwing through the frame!! There are four holes (actually 5, a smaller one where it looks like they started to drill and then moved higher). There are chips to the wood, too. Some putty and black touch-up paint should get the frame looking fine. I'm tempted to try a little "felt pen technology" on it, but I'll leave it to you to fix as you see fit. The painting will be shipped without glass. (I live about an hour east of Portland, OR if you'd prefer to pick it up)
