This looks to me like it was hanging on a Santa Fe Railway Executive's office wall,  in a Corporate Hallway, or It may also have been in a railroad station ...office
I believe this to have been a Presentation piece, or an Executive owned pieceas this looks like it was professionally framed and presented to someone,  for sure, especially considering the small brass plaque, and the light attached to the frameeverything looks like it was original to the piece

THIS IS THE ONE EVERYBODY REMEMBERS! SANTA FE Railroad's most famous image
Lamp Bulb is not currently working, (or less likely, possibly the switch is bad)ancient looking plug and wiring, it looks okay,  but I think it should be rewired for safety if you choose to display it lit upBrass lamp has a lot of adaptability with adjustable components
picture itself is printed on a surface with texture, and this texture is hard to see in the photosI cannot tell if this is a print, or a Lithograph, I think Lithothere are no markings and I will not take paper off back to see if there are markings on the back inside

The San Francisco Chief was a streamlined passenger train on the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway ("Santa Fe") between Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area.It ran from 1954 until 1971. The San Francisco Chief was the last new streamliner introduced by the Santa Fe, its first full train between Chicago and the Bay,  the only Chicago-Bay Area train running over just one railroad, and at 2, 555 miles, the longest run in the country on one railroad. The San Francisco Chief was one of many trains discontinued when Amtrak began operations in 1971.
The EMC E1 (a new and improved streamlined locomotive) would pull the Super Chief, resplendent in the now-famous Warbonnet paint scheme devised by Leland Knickerbocker of the GM Art and Color Section. It is reminiscent of a Native American ceremonial Headdress. The scheme consisted of a red "bonnet" which wrapped around the front of the unit and was bordered by a yellow stripe and black pinstripe. The extent of the bonnet varied according to the locomotive model.
The man responsible for the fantastic history of Santa Fe's artistic use of southwest paintings for its calendars was William Haskell Simpson, who became ATSF's general advertising agent in 1900. His first goal was to enhance the company's image and promote tourism to the Southwest where Santa Fe's famed passenger trains roamed. His efforts can be described as monumental.
Simpson searched for artists from the eastern United States to paint southwestern themed art,  which would then be used in Santa Fe advertising. With a plan in hand, the first painting purchased by Simpson was in 1903. The work of art depicted the San Francisco Peaks in northern Arizona, as painted by Bertha Menzler Dressler.Hernando G. Villa was born in Los Angeles and studied art in School of Art & Design locally.
Villa travelled to Europe to continue his studies and after moved back to Los Angeles where he opened his own studio.
He created illustrations for many magazines and advertisement for Santa Fe for over 40 years.
