Original Description:
Well-preserved Middle Miocene (~14.5 million years) Australian cone Conus heterospira 42.2 mm Tate, 1890 39.5 mm, Victoria, Australia, is now available. This is a rare species, far rarer than for instance Conus ligatus which occurs in the same fossil layers. This piece is in very good condition given its age - apart from the loss to the lip (almost impossible to find with lip intact), it is hard to fault. Suitable for an advanced fossil and/or Conus collection.
Please examine photos... carefully as they form an important part in depicting the condition by showing the shell from all angles. Comes with full data. Happy bidding!
