Rare original Dort enamel radiator badge emblem insignia nameplate. The Dort was built from 1915 to 1924 by the Dort Motor Car Co. in Flint, MI. I do not know exact year, model, or application for this example. Badges like these were made using the champleve or guilloche process of heat bonding melted glass to a copper base which was then plated. 2" diameter, blue and white enamel with nickel plating. No makers mark visible. Good used condit...ion, no bends or cracks, small dent at outer right and some scratches. Some areas of enamel chipping with touchup, balance of enamel is nice. The original plating is mostly intact with wear and patination. Mounting cup is missing. Hard to find, great for your collection, use as is on a driver, or easily restored.
