This is a lovely old pendant that is a sparkly piece of Catholic religious jewelry!The pendant is a sterling silver setting, shaped like a bell, with a Mother of Pearl bell-shaped disk that sits in the center. The setting is complete with a frame of decorative beading and detailing, along with 22 faceted marcasites.In the center of the Mother of Pearl is a figural image of Our Lady of Grace. It measures 1/2"H and st...ands up from the setting, giving the piece a nice dimension.The pendant measures almost 1 inch in height, not including the bail and 15/16 inch in width at the widest part. There is a decorative jump ring. The back has the traditional emblem and the hallmarks STERLING and CHAPEL. We will include a silver link chain, 19" long and not sterling, just in case you don't have one on hand!This piece is from the estate of Sr. Margaret who tells Mother of Pearl was believed to symbolize faith, charity and innocence.It is in fine vintage condition with only a bit of patina on the reverse. We will package it in a gift box for a nice presentation.
