Watches came to us from an abandoned storage locker and are brand new, never sold at retail or worn. All were working with very weak original batteries when we received them; they have a real retro 80's retro surfer look. In the instructions, it states that reset mode reverts date to Saturday, 1/1/83, so that is a pret...ty good indication these were produced in 1983. We do know these are no longer produced and not very common any more.
Our middle school aged nieces each got one of these for Christmas and were mesmerized; they had never seen such a thing. I occasionally wear one just for the fun of it. Our elderly aunt is also wearing one when she goes shopping; primarily for the calculator. She loves it!
Watch you receive will have a fresh battery installed, be checked for proper function; and be working when it leaves our possession.
Watches are all purple in color; but color of box graphics, pillow and ribbon, as well as "surfer photos" on the wood boxes vary and will be selected by us at random.

NOTE: Watches have a clear plastic sticker on display that you remove when worn. Any imperfections that may be seen on the display in any of the photos are on the removable plastic film. Watch faces are pristine.*************************************After a few questions from potential buyers about "water resistance", I will share this: Original packaging shows water sports; Keypad buttons are rubber and back cover has a rubber gasket. I took a watch that was running and put it in a bowl of water, where it remained submerged for a little over 8 hrs. I took it out, dried the outside and checked it. No water entered the case and watch is running perfectly. My guess would be it is water resistant enough for showering and maybe shallow water swimming, but certainly not diving.Due to the fact I open each watch prior to sale, I don't guarantee water resistance and a professional evaluation is suggested. Wear in water at your own risk.
