Commissioned in 1956 to “e...xpress the spirit of flight, ” the TWA Terminal at JFK International Airport is one of the most recognizable aviation buildings in the world. Architect Eero Saarinen designed the land-marked, swooping bird-like structure.
I was lucky to be present when portions of the structure were demolished to make way for the new Terminal 5 at JFK International Airport. These granite tiles were custom made for the terminal. They measure 1/2" in diameter and each tile has it's own unique wear. The finish of the metal is Antique Bronze.
I guarantee that they are original. In fact, I recommend that you match them up with the flooring of the building that still remains. I have a limited quantity of these and there is no chance that I will be able to make more. All of them are handmade by yours truly.
