Original Description:
Up for auction is an antique cast iron ink stand with glass "snail" bottles. One of the bottles has a large chip to  the open end as shown. The other bottle is fine. Some expected paint loss on the medallions where the bottles ct as stoppers for the ink. The piece measures approximately 4-3/4" x 3-5/8" tall x 4" deep. It is stamped "Patented Jan 14, 1879 on the back of the medallions. Feel free to email me with any questions and thanks for looking.
