1825 British Resident send Persian letter forTipu Sultan’s nephew Mir Kader Ali1825 AH Cole, British Resident in Mysoor Statesends to Lieutenant Colonel H Huthwaite, Superintendent of the Mysore Princes, a letter written by Sahibzadah Ghoolam Mehoodeen in Persian script for deliveryto Tipu Sultan’s nephew and son in law Meer Cauder Ully Meer Cauder Ully Khawn, nephew and son in law of Tipu Sultan, was son of Sahibzadi Amina Begum, (the 4th daughter ofHyder Ali, father of Tipu Sulta...n, and whose husband Syed Hafiz Ali Khan waskilled by a canon ball during the seize of Arcot on 31st October1780), married ShahzadiAzmat un-nisa Begum Sahiba (diedwithout issue before 1835), third daughter of H.M. Fath 'Ali Tipu SultanPadshah Bahadur, Padshah of Khudadad(Seringapatam). Mir Qadir 'Ali Khan died at Calcutta, 17th August1843 (buried at Mysore FamilyCemetery, Kalighat Park)Sahibzadah Ghoolam Mehoodeen (notPrince Muhiooddeen) is possibly thehusband of Meer Cauder Ully’s own sister whose name is not recorded, a daughterof Amina Begum. She was not deported to Russapaglah. She stayed back inVellore. Nothing much is known about her. British Residents inMysoor State after the fall of Tipu Sultan in 1799 till 1843, when it wasabolished for some years : Sir Barry Close(1799), Josiah Webbe(1801), SirJohn Malcolm(1803-05), Major M Wilkes, A.H. Cole(1811), A.S.Casamaijor(1827-34), Colonel J.S. Frazer(1834), Major R.D. Stokes(1836-42) Mysore Princes, the heirs of Tipoo Sultan ofSerangapatnam were shifted to Russapaglah at Tollygunj in 24-Perghanas in thesuburbs of Calcutta after Vellore Rebellion of 1806 in lieu of grants ofstipends. One of the princes surreptitiously defected to the Marathas.
