I will be selling a good number of interesting antiques including Tribal art, Chinese and European antiques. PLEASE NOTE: This auction is in GB Pounds Sterling.This is a fine antique Qing dynasty silk embroidered fan case with some fine silk embroidery including a scene with swallows and cra...bs and Chinese characters embroidered in silk against a burgundy silk ground and others against a turquoise / sky blue silk ground, the opening of the case being cut in the form of a peach, again embroidered in silk in different colours - it is one of three fine fans I am selling this week among quite a few other examples of Asian art and other antiques over the next two days (Thursday 6th and Friday 7th) so please view my other auctions.It is my policy not to end standard auctions early with a 'buy it now' and at the end of an auction I will not make second chance offers. Good overall condition. Some old insect damage (mainly to the back of the case, which is good) but most of the embroidery is in good condition. Other general wear - please see photos below.It is about 9.4" / 23.8cms long.
Postage & Packing
For your peace of mind and mine items will be sent fully insured. I will be posting from WEDNESDAY 19th JUNE so please make payment as early as possible, ideally within 3 working days. PLEASE be a little patient with the post - I will get them posted asap but I work on my own, have a large amount to post and I do pack carefully. I also post in the order that things are paid for. My items are located in Belgium but I return to the UK after each set of Ebay sales on business trips and post the majority from the UK. It seems complicated but it makes sense and the Royal Mail and Parcelforce have always worked pretty well for me!Any delays by the postal services either at my end or abroad are rarely my fault. I always post out at the latest 3 working days after receiving cleared payment but sometimes an item is slowed up by a backlog of post or delayed whilst being processed through customs. To give you an idea it generally takes about 3-7 working days within Europe and 7 - 14 working days to the U.S. / rest of the world. If speed is of the essence then I can use a courier (Parcelforce) but prices for couriers start at around £30 / £40GBP for the very smallest object and VERY quickly escalate depending on size, weight and destination. I add on very little, often not enough to cover the packaging materials, so the price I quote really is as fair as possible.
