The images measures 18 by 23 cm, it is card mounted and house behind glass in the original antique wood frame measuring 41.5 by 60 cm, with original backing with label verso from Richard Haworth, Dealer in Works of Art, Blackburn. There is a condition report is below. Artist Biography: Neyret Freres it Cie produced tapestries from the early 1800's until just after World War II. Jacquard looms created the tapestries through a series of cards that worked together to create highly detailed works. Neyret Freres is contemporary to the more well-known Stevengraph of England.
Mariano Alonso Pérez y Villagrosa ( Zaragoza , 1857 - Madrid , 1930 ) was a Spanish painter. He began his artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts of Zaragoza and continued in the special school of painting, sculpture and engraving in Madrid. Later he moved to Rome where he attended the Chigi and La Cauva Academy and became familiar with the technique of watercolor . In 1889 he settled in Paris where his brother the composer Luis Alonso lived and made different works set in the time of Louis XVI that had great demand at international level and allowed him to live in a comfortable way. From 1910 he became interested in social-themed painting and in 1914, coinciding with the beginning of the First World War , he decided to return to Spain to settle in Madrid, city in which he died in 1930.

Condition: The silk is in fair condition with several little brown spots. The frame marks the the finish, the mount is aged, there is some fogging on the inside glass and would benefit cleaning.
