Early NAVAJO NAVAHO Indian Rug/Runner. Bifurcated Design/Stepped Fret Border
Item History & Price
GOOD condition with the following noted condition issues:
1. The perimeter is 96% intact with roughly 8" of broken or missing edge cord. Three stubby and worn corner tassels are present; one partial tassel is also worn.
2. There is one small ...hole in the gray ground next to the serrate black element.
3. Both ends are reinforced with black yarn. Warps at one end have been cut and extend beyond the perimeter cord (see photos).
4. This rug was just cleaned by a company specializing in Native American weavings. That said, some light stains/discolorations in the white yarns remain.
Both sides are pictured.
Lazy lines throughout. c. 1920. 6' 3 1/2" x 2' 10 1/2". Despite some condition issues this old Navajo runner has a lot to say. It displays beautifully "as is" and is ready for placement in your home or office. Offered here with NO reserve.
