Vintage Shawnee Pottery Pie Bird - Pink With Green Wing & Eye - 1940's - 50's. This is a pretty little pie bird from Shawnee Pottery. The purpose of it was to let the steam from your fresh baked pie vent though the bird and out the beak. He's in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks, no crazing. The finish is clean and fresh, shiny and bright. There is a small spot on the bottom edge where the pink paint skipped. This is under the clear glaze. He ...stands just over 5" tall. This would be a fun "shelf sitter" in your vintage kitchen!
