A finely made pr. of bright cut solid silver sugar tongs with feather moulded edges and shell design to the cups. Marked with the lion passant and maker's mark IS over IB. No assay mark or date letter. It has been kindly suggested that the maker is James Stamp & John Baker, London circa 1775-80 but there is also a London maker with a very similar mark James Sutton & James Bult? working in a similar period.Length approx 5.1/8" (13cm).
