Item is a 1800s? Vintage antique wooden model boat, from the Van Sant Shipyard. They used this as a guide for building ships.Capt. John Van Sant (1726-1820) established the first Van Sant shipyard at the "Forks" of the Mullica and Batsto Rivers in southern New Jersey in 1760.I am related to the Van Sant's and this item has been past down to me. About 8 years ago we (my family) had a few of these appraised and they were appraised from $1, 000 to $1, 800, I do not have documentation.
